Four-Way Test Speech Contest - 2006-2007
March 14th, 2007. What a great meeting. We hosted our annual 4-Way Speech Contest. This event featured student representatives from three local high schools, speaking on the subject of the "4-Way Test", an ethical yardstick originated by former Rotary International President Charles Taylor in 1932. The test, which can be applied to decision making in personal, professional and business contexts, asks:

Is it the Truth
Is it fair to all concerned
Will it build good will and better friendships
Will it be beneficial to all concerned

Rotarian Steve Heine stated that this year's speakers were all very profiicient. "This was the most competitive contest in a few years." Runner ups were acknowledged for their poise, content and delivery. The event was won by CHS student Jared Matthews, and JGHS student Chelsea Allendar captured first runner up honors and MHS student Kara Dolan earned the second runner up title. Jared is now eligible to represent our Club at the District "4-Way" contest to be held Saturday in Circleville.
